Grief Dance-An Embodied Ritual
Registration required at THIS LINK
When Grief is given to us it reveals underlying joy: This may be joy we have experienced and lost, joy we have yet to experience, or joy we struggle to even imagine. Grief not moved becomes stagnancy, and repressed grief chokes us silently through unnecessary suffering.
In this ritual you will be guided to acknowledge how and where grief resides in your body. We will move this grief together, allowing for the possibility of joy, and hold that there is no grief too great to be shared with others in community. Simultaneously, there is no grief too small to be acknowledged and moved. The weight of grief is most easily and effectively shouldered and composed in community, where our collective strength prevents us from being crushed underneath.
This 3 hour journey will include time focused on breath, movement meditation, connection, group sharing, and improvisational dance with music. Physical contact and interaction with others will always be optional. Led by Matthew Nelson with assistance from Tori Hindson. $35, Max 18 participants. Registration required at THIS LINK
